Leeds United may have lost their opening game of the season to Millwall away from home last weekend, but the West Yorkshire club have bounced back with back-to-back wins.
The Whites defeated Accrington Stanley 2-1 at Elland Road on Tuesday to book their place in the second round of the League Cup, and then on Saturday they edged past Middlesbrough 1-0 at home in the Championship.
It was Dave Hockaday’s first win as Leeds manager and owed much to the club’s big summer signing Billy Sharp.
The 28-year-old joined the former Premier League outfit earlier this week from Southampton on a two-year contract and made his debut for Leeds on Saturday.
It was his goal in the 88th minute that clinched Leeds all three points and got them off the mark in the Championship.
Sharp poked the ball home after Middlesbrough goalkeeper Tomas Mejias had parried Michael Tonge's shot to send the home fans into delirium.
Many of the Leeds fans took to social networking site Twitter to revel in their team’s first league win of the season and hailed the signing of Sharp.
Some of the supporters also pointed out that Leeds are not missing Scotland international forward Ross McCormack, who joined Fulham for a reported transfer fee of £11 million last month.
Here is a selection of the tweets that Leeds fans have been posting since the team’s victory over Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon:

Will Billy Sharp compensate the absence of Ross McCormack for Leeds United?
