Arsenal transfer news: Khedira asking price slashed by £17m; Podolski future

All the latest transfer news and gossip from The Emirates.

One player who exited Arsenal this summer has been speaking about his departure - insisting he was not tapped up. Bacary Sagna left Arsenal after six years at The Emirates to join Manchester City on a Bosman transfer.

Arsene Wenger has intimated that the Premier League champions might have tapped up the player, but Sagna has now hit out at those suggestions:

"I know exactly what happened, everyone knows. I’m not a tricky person. I’m very professional. I have been fair because I’ve respected my contract. I spent six years on the same contract and never went to the boss’ office to ask for more, but that’s life. It’s not about the money. Can you find one player in Europe who stayed six years on the same contract? That’s what I did and I never asked for anything."

Sami Khedira's asking price has reportedly been slashed by Real Madrid as the club hierarchy looks to move the big-earner on this summer.

Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the player - previously valued at £25 million.

But with his injury record nobody seems willing to pay that sum of money and Real want to sell him before he can agree a Bosman deal in January.

With that in mind reports in Spain have suggested that Real have slashed their asking price to a measly £8 million in an attempt to tempt bidders.

Arsenal are said to be considering the sale of German international Lukas Podolski. Their is interest from Turkey and Germany for the World Cup winner - who has seen Alexis Sanchez make his first-team opportunities even more difficult.

However Podolski is not believed to be keen on an exit.
