All the latest transfer news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been giving updates on transfer news during his pre-Crystal Palace press conference this morning. The rumours this week have seen Arsenal linked with several new players, including a new striker.
The rumour mill has churned out a reported £51 million move for Uruguayan Edinson Cavani but Wenger has confirmed Arsenal will not be signing any new strikers this summer, stating the club "have unbelievable strength" in the striking department.
He went on to talk about potential movement before the end of the transfer window, confirming he is not ruling out a move for players in the remainder of the Transfer Window:
"I'm happy with the players I've signed. Will I still do something? I don't rule it out. Our finances are still healthy but we want to go through to CL Group stages and then see. What is a big signing? For you, it's the size of the fee. For me it's the quality of the player."
Wenger has also confirmed once again that Joel Campbell is going nowhere this summer. He said of the Costa Rican, who recently shone at the World Cup and has been linked with Newcastle and AC Milan:
"I would like to keep him here, he has trained very well and matured a lot."
He also forms part of their striking department, which would be thin with his absence.
Reports are now suggesting that Arsenal have serious competition in the race to sign Olympiakos defender Kostas Manolas. The £8 million rated Greek international has emerged as a potential replacement for Thomas Vermaelen. However it would now appear Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also in the chase for the player this summer.
