Serie A transfer latest: Juve closing in on replacement for Arsenal target?

All the latest summer transfer news from Serie A...

Most of the speculation surrounding Juventus concerns the future of midfielder Arturo Vidal, who continues to be a target for Manchester United. The rumours will no doubt pick up pace after it was revealed that Massimiliano Allegri's side have submitted a €5m bid for Inter Milan star Fredy Guarin - with forward Sebastian Giovinco offered up in part-exchange too in order to try and land the Colombian as a possible Vidal replacement.

Sticking with Juve, Allegri could be set to land even more experience for his defence having already snapped up Manchester United left back Patrice Evra. Benfica star Luisao has now reportedly asked for a move to Turin, and the Brazilian could be seen as a replacement for Italian international Leonardo Bonucci, who is a rumoured target for Arsenal as manager Arsene Wenger seeks to bring in a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen.

Elsewhere, Napoli defender Federico Fernandez looks set to leave Rafael Benitez's side in order to move to the Premier League. The Argentine World Cup centre back, 25, is on the verge of completing an £8m move to Swansea City as a replacement for Chico Flores, and Swans boss Garry Monk says Fernandez should arrive in South Wales soon.

"We have had a good chat with Federico," Monk said. "We have an agreement with Napoli and now we are negotiating with him. Hopefully he will be here this week for a medical but I don’t think he will be available for Saturday."

However, one former Swansea star who could be a part of the Napoli squad this season is Dutch midfielder Jonathan de Guzman. The 26-year-old has been on loan at the Liberty Stadium from Villarreal for the past two seasons, and whilst it was thought that Queens Park Rangers would snap him up on a permanent deal, speculation now suggests that Benitez wants to sign de Guzman on loan this season, where he would reunite with former team mate Michu.
