Liverpool to bid for 'the new Eden Hazard' despite Arsenal links

Reports claim that Liverpool have launched a bid for Arsenal-linked youngster hailed as the ‘new Eden Hazard’; Zakaria Bakkali.

The 18-year-old PSV Eindhoven attacker is one of the Eredivisie’s finest prospects and Liverpool are reportedly preparing to sign him. The Belgian winger has also earned his first cap for Belgium last year and is widely regarded as the ‘next Eden Hazard’, hoping to following in the footsteps of the Chelsea ace to the Premier League.

Liverpool, still with an abundance of cash to spend following the sale of Luis Suarez, are reportedly preparing a bid to tempt PSV to sell the youngster before his contract expires in less than 12 months time.

A dynamic and creative player with huge potential and an already dangerous technical skill on the ball, the slight teenager could find himself on the way to the Premier League should the Dutch outfit opt to cash in before the clock winds down on his contract next summer.

Zakaria Bakkali had been linked with a potential move to Arsenal prior to the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and the return from loan of Joel Campbell this summer but Liverpool may well be the eventual beneficiaries of the Gunners turning their attention elsewhere.

PSV director Marcel Brands appeared calm when he discussed the youngster’s future recently, suggesting that he would be ‘at peace’ should the club’s hottest young prospect decide to leave.

"If he chooses a transfer, I am also at peace with it," he said.

With the lack of determined resistance against a potential move for the Belgian, the Reds could get the deal over the line with more ease than would ordinarily be expected for a player of his potential but it remains to be seen whether or not the player feels the time is right for a big move.
