Gary Neville: This side's transfer business could win them the league

The former Manchester United star has tipped Chelsea to take the league title this year, if Diego Costa can find any kind of Premier League form.

With the Premier League season just around the corner, Manchester United and England legend and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has revealed that he thinks Chelsea have made the best signings so far this season, and that it if things go well for Jose Mourinho's men, those signings could fire them the title.

The Blues have several new players at the club for the 2014-15 season, with Thibaut Courtois providing massive competition for Petr Cech, Atletico Madrid fullback comes in for Ashely Cole as a La Liga champion, while his teammate in Spain, Diego Costa, is the club's new superstar striker despite veteran Didier Drogba's return. Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has also arrived from Barcelona, while promising defender Kurt Zouma has come in from Ligue 1.

Such business has left Neville purring, with him particularly impressed by the arrivals of Fabregas and Costa.

"They’ve now got a proven goalscoring midfield player in the Premier League in Cesc Fabregas and they’ve got Diego Costa," said the former defender. "I expect Fabregas to bed in straight away because he’s been in the Premier League before and has lived in London before," said the former defender.

"If Costa hits the ground running then I’d say Chelsea are going to win the league. Last year, not having a centre-forward of great note cost them.

"Costa is interesting; when you watch him play, he looks the type that is going to work his backside off for the team," added Neville. "Even if he’s not at his best in terms of goalscoring you just feel as though he’s going to be a massive threat and a handful for teams to deal with. They’ll have something they didn’t have last year, even if he’s not settling in immediately."

Both Fabregas and Costa have already settled into their new side well, registering a couple of strikes in the Chelsea's preseason friendlies.

All eyes will be Turf Moor on Monday night to see just how well they perform for the Blues against Premier League newcomers Burnley.
