Van Gaal to cut Nani loose, Juventus want Vidal-based discount

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal doesn't have a place for Nani in his squad and Juventus could look for a special discount.

Manchester United and Juventus are expected to hold regular discussions about Arturo Vidal over the next fortnight, but the future of Nani may also be on the agenda.

Juventus were tracking the Portuguese winger back in January and seemed close to swooping, but no concrete approach was ever made.

Although David Moyes presented him with a five-year deal, Nani's stock at Old Trafford fell considerably during a tough 2013-14 campaign and reports suggest that he has been told by new manager Louis van Gaal that he would be better served moving on.

The Quotidiano Sportivo reports that Juventus are interested in taking Nani on, but they are hoping for a sizeable discount from his valuation, which is said to be around £10 million.

It is suggested that the Italian champions will look to use the open talks for Vidal as leverage to get Nani very cheaply, although he is unlikely to be included in the same deal.

However, things may be complicated by reports that Turkish side Galatasaray are back in for Nani having seen a £7 million bid turned down last year.

Nani has been at Manchester United since signing from Sporting Lisbon in 2007 and is four appearances short of 150 for the club.
