Transfer Clock: 20 days to go until the transfer window closes, here is all the latest you need to know...
Liverpool confirm Moreno agreement
Liverpool have struck an agreement to sign Alberto Moreno from Sevilla. The left-back was omitted from the La Liga side's team to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, and the Reds have confirmed a fee has been agreed, via their website. Personal terms and a medical still need to be negotiated and passed before the transfer becomes official, with the Reds stating they hope to complete the transfer in the 'coming days.'
Manchester United bid for Marcos Rojo, close on Blind
Manchester United are closing on a deal to sign Argentina star Marcos Rojo, report the BBC. The Red Devils are said to have submitted a £16 million offer, and the defender has handed in a transfer request at Sporting Lisbon. Rojo has gone on strike, refusing to train, in an effort to force through the deal.
The Mail also report the club are moving in on Ajax star Daley Blind, claiming there has been a breakthrough in talks. Ajax are demanding £20 million for the versatile Dutchman, who played at left-back at the World Cup, but starred in defensive midfield for the Eredivisie side last season.
Southampton agree £12m Long deal
Southampton have agreed a £12 million deal to sign Irish striker Shane Long from Hull City, report The Mirror. The fee takes the total amount paid for the player over the course of his career to £24 million. While the £12 million fee appears a high price, it is worth bearing in mind the Saints are to an extent being held to ransom with clubs knowing they have a lot of money to spend, after selling the likes of Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Calum Chambers for sizeable fees.
Tottenham linked with 11 player clearout
Tottenham are considering selling off 11 players before deadline day, report The Telegraph. The players on the chopping list are, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Aaron Lennon, Vlad Chiriches, Kyle Naughton, Sandro, Nacer Chadli, Moussa Dembele, Etienne Capoue, Roberto Soldado, Kyle Naughton and Andros Townsend.
While it is unlikely the club would sell off all 11, it suggests a lack of faith in many of the players signed last summer. New manager Mauricio Pochettino would also look to bring in his own players, with the paper suggesting Memphis Depay, Loic Remy and Morgan Schneiderlin.
