Arsenal's new fitness coach may have been introduced to the squad a fortnight ago, but Mesut Ozil is particularly happy to see him.
Regardless of Arsenal's ability to lure Alexis Sanchez out of Barcelona and away from the clutches of Liverpool, or the fact that Arsene Wenger has not even completed his transfer spending for the summer, the most important signing of the current window could be one that has gone under the radar.
An unheralded acquisition, yet a World Cup winner.
An area where the club had cover (Marcus Svennson and Tony Colbert), but a recruitment that could save Arsene Wenger many problems over limited match-day selection over the coming season.
Shad Forsythe, who was part of the coaching team that guided the German national football team to World Cup honours earlier this summer, was introduced to the Gunners squad two weeks ago at the club's pre-season base in Bad Waltersdorf, Austria - and it is likely he will be tasked with revolutionising the way in which the playing roster and conditioned for match-day action.
Such measures are necessary as, on too many occasions in the past half-decade, Arsenal continually topped the injury league - and the issues reported tended to be muscular, suggesting that some could be avoided.
One player delighted with the signing is Mesut Ozil, who will be all too aware of Forsythe's methods having worked with him at international level.
Ozil said: "Another world champion for the Gunners! Welcome to Arsenal, Shad Forsythe."
