Nemanja Matic, Chelsea's number 21, inadvertently spoiled the team photo which the club took before their final pre-season friendly last night.
As the Chelsea side lined up ahead of their game against Real Sociedad they posed for a photo and all of the Serbian’s teammates managed to get into number order.
However, Matic decided to slot in between Branislav Ivanovic and Filipe Luis in the picture – rather cocking up the order of the line-up.
His side will be hoping that he is more disciplined during the Premier League season, as Matic is likely to be one of their key performers.
This season the former Benfica man is surrounded by creative and attacking talent in Chelsea’s midfield and he will be expected to be the player who allows the more offensive players to thrive by imposing himself on opposition midfields.
That does not mean he is simply a destroyer, though. Matic is clearly a more well-rounded player than that and his power and presence in the Blues’ team is what Jose Mourinho hopes will drive them on to more success.
He certainly was able to last night, as he put in an impressive display against Sociedad.
In-front of an expectant Stamford Bridge crowd, Chelsea ran out 2-0 winners against the La Liga side thanks to two goals from Diego Costa on his home debut.
It rounds of Chelsea’s preparations for the upcoming season in encouraging style, as they build up to their game against Burnley on Monday night.
The Blues face the newly promoted side and will be heavy favourites to win, but will realise that taking on a side who has as much momentum as Burnley, after their impressive display last campaign, is never an easy task.
