Sevilla coach Unai Emery has wished Alberto Moreno the best of luck in his Liverpool career.

It was announced late on Tuesday that Premier League outfit Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle to sign the 22-year-old left-back from their Spanish counterpart.

Negotiations between the two clubs have been going on for several weeks, and they finally came to fruition yesterday.

‘I congratulate the players who have decide to take a further step, but I am not going to think about them again’, The Independent quotes Emery as saying. ‘We will remember players like Alberto Moreno.

‘It is true that it was in our minds but this has been in the offing for around a month and a half or two.

‘There are teams interested in him and this has speeded it all up. We want to wish him the best’.

One defender who could be on his way out of Liverpool this month is Martin Kelly.

It has been reported by the Daily Star that the 24-year-old England international could complete his move from the Reds to Crystal Palace today for a transfer fee of just £1.5 million.

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has backed teenage winger Raheem Sterling to take his game to a whole new level this season.

The 19-year-old had a successful 2013-14 campaign for the Merseyside outfit, and following his 2014 World Cup experience with England earlier this summer, he is expected to continue his progress and development this term.

‘Something we said to Raheem when he first broke into the team, and something we’ve reiterated, is that you have to have an identity as a player’, The Guardian quotes Rodgers as saying. ‘The identity he has is to score goals and create goals. That’s what the job is.

‘He scored 10 goals last year and this kid is only going to get better. When you’re so young, it’s important to understand exactly what your role is.

‘Not just look good, you have to be efficient and effective. His development has gone to a new level. He’s way above the level from when he first came in’.
