Leeds United fans have been impressed by Souleymane Doukara, after he scored twice on his competitive Elland Road debut.
Souleymane Doukara has wasted no time making an impression on Leeds United fans.
The striker, brought in over the summer from Catania on loan, was in the fine form on his competitive Elland Road debut as he scored twice in the club’s League Cup success against Accrington Stanley.
The Whites ran out 2-1 winners over the League Two side in what was a much needed victory for new head-coach David Hockaday, as he looks to alleviate some of the pressure building on him already.
Doukara played a starring role in the success – scoring his first with a well taken finish, before showing his pace and power to bag his second of the night.
It was a excellent display which has got Leeds fans purring about his quality and has given the supporters something to cheer about in what has been a worrying time for the club.
Since Massimo Cellino has taken over a host of players have come in from the Italian leagues, meaning it was hard to know how this season was going to go for the Yorkshire side.
The early signs didn’t look promising, though, as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat to Millwall in their opening league fixture of the campaign and put in a terrible performance in the process.
However, last night’s win has raised spirits and Doukara’s performance was the pick of the bunch – with Leeds supporters signing his praises on social media.
Here are some of the best tweets for Whites fans on Twitter.
Like the look of Doukara gonna be a good, looked quick strong and good finisher, needed someone with pace for a while— Kirsty Stanley (@stanners_1982) August 13, 2014
If we get Billy Sharp I'll be proper made up. Really liked the look of Doukara last night as well. Let's start Smith on Saturday!— Neil (@thetravelbeard) August 13, 2014
A few positives last night, Doukara and Charlie Taylor played well I thought. Hockaday got his substitutions completely wrong though! #lufc— Richard Box (@richardboxy) August 13, 2014
