Everton are reportedly weighing up a bid for Parma midfielder Jonathan Biabiany, though the Toffees could face stiff competition from Inter Milan for his signature.
The Merseyside club were linked with a move for the 26-year-old this week, with West Bromwich Albion also thought to be tracking the attacking midfielder, who has impressed for Parma since signing permanently from Sampdoria two years ago.
Roberto Martinez did look to be in pole position to land the player too, after the Baggies reportedly baulked at the £8 million price tag the Serie A side slapped on the player.
But while the Midlands club look unlikely to pursue any deal for Biabiany at the time of writing, another potential suitor has emerged in the former of Inter Milan.
Tuttosport claims that the Nerazzurri are considering a bid for the Paris-born star, who was previously on the books at Inter as a youngster and even featured for the Italian side against Tottenham in the Champions League.
The opportunity to return to the club where it all began could see Biabiany opt to remain in Italy rather than complete a Goodison Park switch, though neither team has yet to table a formal bid for the Frenchman, who has represented his national team at under-21 level.
Everton’s link to the winger is also somewhat surprising considering the recent acquisition of Christian Atsu on loan from Chelsea.
But with Aidan McGeady struggling for form with the Merseysiders, Martinez may have identified Biabiany as the ideal addition to his squad as Everton prepare to launch another assault on the Premier League top four.
