Arsenal are being heavily linked with a move for Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani. Cavani has recently stated he will not be leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer - but speculation continues to mount that he could be on his way out of the door at the Ligue 1 champions.
Liverpool have been linked with his signature - which could set any team back anything up to £51 million for his services.
However, Arsene Wenger has intimated recently the club do not need a new striker this summer and the cost alone would seemingly rule them out of a move for the striker.
Mesut Ozil has been speaking about his upcoming second season at the club - after a below par debut term. the club record signing, who has been celebrating winning the World Cup with Germany this summer, has spoken about his expectations for 2014-15:
"There is room for improvement in all departments. I need to have more shots at goal, and also improve my headers. The World Cup title was a great success, but it has to go on now. I am looking forward to my second season in England, because I can also bring in my experience from my first season.
Reported Arsenal target Clement Grenier has told Lyon he wants to leave the club. The French international stated:
I asked at the end of the season, even before we know the future of the coach, Remi Garde, if it were possible to go to another club to play with more continuity, but I did not say I want to go away at all costs. I simply think that it can be the right time to try a new experience."
However Arsenal are no longer believed to be interested in the player.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been speaking about Arsenal newbie Calum Chambers today. He expressed how he feels he can become a great talent for the club:
"We saw him play for Arsenal for the first time at the Emirates Cup and I thought he was superb for a 19-year-old playing centre-back against really good players. I thought he looked very assured and he's going to be a great talent for the club."
