RIP Robin Williams, brilliant human being, avid gamer

Robin Williams Legend Of Zelda Nintendo Ad 1

Robin Williams has passed away at the age of 63. HITC Gaming honour his Nintendo advert appearances and show a slip of the actor playing Spore.

By now many of you would have heard that actor, comedian, and all-round brilliant human being, Robin Williams has died. He was a big part of many peoples’ childhoods - he was definitely a big part of mine – appearing in such films as Hook, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, and voicing Genie in Aladdin. All of us here at HITC are sad to hear of his passing, but instead of dwelling on the sadness of what’s happened today, we’d like to celebrate some of his greatest moments that tie-in to Gaming, which will hopefully bring a smile to your face, and maybe even a tear to your eye.

Robin was well-known to be an avid gamer, playing such titles as Half-Life, Warcraft 3, Day of Defeat, and Battlefield 2. He particularly enjoyed The Legend of Zelda games, and even named his daughter, Zelda, after the princess of the same name. Robin’s son Cody is said to be named after a game character also.

Robin and his daughter Zelda featured in a series of Nintendo ads, to promote The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on 3DS. I’ve put a few of the ads for you below - they’re pretty sweet, and pay great tribute to the actor. So, sit back, relax, and honour a great man the world has lost today.
