PHOTO: Manchester United youngster is all smiles after completing loan move

Manchester United's Angelo Henriquez has posted a picture of himself in Dinamo Zagreb kit after completing a move to the Croatian champions yesterday.

Manchester United youngster Angelo Henriquez says that he is ready for a new challenge after signing for Dinamo Zagreb on a season-long-loan yesterday.

The 20-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance for United, and Louis van Gaal clearly thought that a loan move to Croatia would help his development more than playing for United’s reserves.

Henriquez, himself, certainly seems happy with the move and posted a picture in his new club kit on Instagram with the caption: “New challenge #dinamo #zagreb.”

It is Henriquez’s third loan move in the last two seasons, after he had spells at Wigan Athletic and Real Zaragoza previously.

During his time in La Liga, the Chilean international scored six times in 25 appearances and he will be looking to build upon that total in the Croatian top-flight this year.

Henriquez has been given the number nine shirt by his new club, indicating that he is the man that they expect to spearhead their attacking line-up this season.

Last campaign Zagreb won the Prva HNL title for the ninth time in a row and they will be looking to continue their dominance of Croatian football this year.

It will be a good experience for Henriquez who has found his route to the United first-team blocked in recent times.

The likes of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney have established themselves as the club’s first-choice pairing, but Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck offer good cover in that area and Henriquez appears out of the picture at the moment.

More worryingly for the youngster is the emergence of James Wilson, who has taken the reserves and under 21 leagues by storm in recent times.

There is a thought that Wilson could be used fleetingly in the first-team at Old Trafford this year, after scoring twice on his debut last season, and if he does break-through Henriquez’s chance of making the grade at his parent club look very limited.
