Jose isn't happy with that Torres touch. https://t.co/tz4qoLXZ65— World Football Feed (@transfer_wfng) August 11, 2014
Fernando Torres has been much maligned throughout his Chelsea career, but Jose Mourinho has shown a great deal of faith in him during his time in-charge of the club so far.
The Portuguese boss may not have signed Torres for £50 million, but he has entrusted him to be a key player for his side this year and given him ample opportunities to rekindle his top form at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho sold Romelu Lukaku this summer as he felt that Torres and Didier Drogba could provide adequate cover for Diego Costa for a place up-front at the club, but he may be reconsidering that after their most recent friendly.
The charismatic manager can be seen looking suitably unimpressed by Torres’ attempt at a piece of skill in the video above, during the Blues most recent pre-season match against Ferencvaros.
In the end, the poor attempt at dribbling didn’t matter, as Chelsea ran out 2-1 winners, but Mourinho’s face in the clip is one of complete contempt.
Torres’ form in training has been promising, with one particular clip encouraging Chelsea fans that he may just find his top formthis year, but once again his on-the-pitch woes were all too evident.
It is a shame to see a striker who was once considered amongst the best in the world look so out of sorts and under-confident, but it has been the case for an alarmingly long period of time.
The hope is that this season, with a Chelsea side packed with quality, he can somehow rekindle his past best and live up to the price-tag which has weighed heavily on his shoulders since moving to Stamford Bridge.
However, this latest piece of footage only confirms that doubts surrounding him and he is going to have to show a marked improvement if he is to prove that Mourinho was correct in allowing Lukaku to leave.
