Didier Drogba was forced off with an injury during Chelsea's match with Ferencvaros in Hungary.
The 36-year-old Ivorian had played only 20 minutes before knocking his ankle, and was unable to continue.
Jose Mourinho did not discuss the striker's condition after the game, but Drogba has explained the latest, giving an update on Chelsea's website:
"‘I twisted my ankle and I couldn’t continue, in the next few days we are going to do some treatment and I hope everything will be better."
Reports he will face weeks or months out are at this stage clearly premature, and Chelsea fans hoping for good news should not prepare for the worst just yet.
Chelsea won the match 2-1, with goals from Ramires and Cesc Fabregas.
