Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend’s future has recently been cast into doubt following reports that London rivals Queens Park Rangers are interested in him.
The 23-year-old spent the second half of the 2012-13 season on loan at QPR and was impressive during his spell at Loftus Road.
Townsend carried that form into the 2013-14 campaign for Spurs and enjoyed a breakthrough season at White Hart Lane.
However, with the squad that new Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino possesses, there are doubts on whether Townsend will be able to play week in and week out for the North London outfit, leading to speculation that he could join QPR if an offer is indeed made.
However, the winger does not seem to give any indication that he will leave Tottenham anytime soon as he made the following post on social networking site Twitter following his side’s 2-1 home win against Schalke in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
It is clear from the post that Townsend considers himself very much a Tottenham player and has no plan to leave a club that could break into the top four of the Premier League this season under their new Argentine boss Pochettino.
Townsend is a talented player and great things are expected of him. However, the 2014-15 season could be crucial in determining how he progresses in his career at Tottenham.
