Lukas Podolski may not be playing today for Arsenal, but he will be watching his team-mates take on Manchester City in the FA Community Shield from afar.
The 29-year-old forward is still on his summer break after winning the 2014 World Cup with Brazil and will return to pre-season training on Monday.
However, the former Bayern Munich star has wished his Arsenal teammates the best of luck for today’s match at London’s Wembley Stadium by posting the following picture on Instagram with the message: ‘Good luck for the game at Wembley today! Looking forward to joining the lads tomorrow, hungry for scoring for the GUNNERS again’

Podolski was a regular for Arsenal in his first season at the Emirates Stadium in 2012-13 after joining the North London outfit from Koln in the summer of 2012.
However, last season the German lost his place in the Gunners’ starting line-up and, despite being part of his country’s World Cup squad in Brazil, he was used as a utility player.
Podolski will face more competition for a place in the Arsenal starting line-up this season because of the arrival of Chile international star Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.
There have been reports that Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in signing the German (click here to read more), but as things stand, he is an Arsenal player and will remain so.
