A new season is upon us and we already have our first managerial casualty as all seems to be not well on and off the pitch at Huddersfield Town. An abject performance at home to Bournemouth on Saturday resulted in a 4-0 defeat, and Mark Robins claimed the display was disgraceful.
The Terriers board and Robins have agreed to part ways and one would think they will now act pretty fast to bring in a replacement to give them as much time as possible with just three weeks left of the transfer window. Performances had declined towards the end of last season under Robins and survival was only secured on the last day of the season.
The board have bigger ambitions than just survival and may look to bring in a proven manager at this level. Huddersfield fans reacted on Twitter following the news with not many feeling to sympathetic for Robins after 2 wins in 22 games. Other football fans were of the belief that it is far too soon to judge a manager into the new season
embarrassing that Mark Robins has left after the first game of the season— chris (@ChrisPearson6) August 10, 2014
Only semi logical reason 4 Mark Robins leaving Huddersfield is new boss has remainder of transfer window to bring players in. Otherwise daft— Simon Stone (@sistoney67) August 10, 2014
Can't believe Mark Robins has been sacked after one game. Will defo be in another job soon no doubt.— Stuart Richards (@StuRich1991) August 10, 2014
Good riddance Mark Robins! Its not harsh & it's not after only one game. It's 2 wins in fucking 22! Not acceptable. Onwards & upwards #Htfc— Stew! (@stewarthtfc) August 10, 2014
