Chelsea had flown to Turkey for a charity event, in which Jose Mourinho's side would play 45-minute friendly matches against Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
That, of course, meant a reunion with summer departee Demba Ba, who joined the Turkish side for £4.7 million.
Ba had endured a frustrating spell at Stamford Bridge, though his new dawn at Besiktas appears to have started well, with the 29-year-old scoring a hat-trick in a Champions League qualifier against Feyenoord.
Earlier today, the Senegalese striker also received news that he will be coming up against Arsenal in the next round of Champions League qualification.
For now, though, Ba's attentions have turned to a reunion with his former team-mates - and he was snapped with Brazil midfielder Ramires as soon as the Blues squad had arrived for their encounter.
The 27-year-old had been linked with a move away from west London this summer but appears to be staying put as things stand, with Mourinho keen to make use of all of his available options.
Former Chelsea midfielder Raul Mereiles is also in action in the charity tournament in Turkey, representing Fenerbahce.
For the Blues, meanwhile, another pre-season friendly follows on Turkish soil on Sunday, while they open their Premier League campaign at Burnley on Monday August 18th.
