Roma coach Rudi Garcia has reportedly asked sporting director Walter Sabatini to snap up Lille striker Salomon Kalou.
However, according to the Daily Express, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton are also eyeing the 29-year-old, who is said to be keen to leave Lille.
Kalou spent six years at Chelsea after signing from Dutch side Feyenoord in 2006. He scored 36 goals in 156 appearances at Stamford Bridge.
Since signing for Lille in 2012, the Ivory Coast international has managed the impressive strike rate of 30 goals in 66 games, but he is reportedly frustrated at life in Ligue 1.
French newspaper L'Equipe claims that Lille are happy to let Kalou leave because they are struggling to pay his high wages.
Roma managed to finish second in Serie A last season and can offer Champions League football.
The Giallorossi have put together an impressive summer transfer campaign, but they are still lacking offensive options and Kalou's goals to games ratio will be very attractive to a side without a poacher.
