Manchester United transfer latest: Key date emerges in Vidal pursuit

Juventus 2

Juventus have reportedly set a deadline for Manchester United to front up the money they are demanding for Arturo Vidal.

We detailed yesterday how Juventus were growing increasingly frustrated with Manchester United's interest in Arturo Vidal hanging over them, without transmitting into an actual offer.

It has left the player distracted, reportedly keen on a move, and has them considering their own transfer options with what to do with the proceeds. Yet without the €50 million minimum they are demanding, the situation is at stalemate.

Now the Italian media is claiming, that to resolve the situation, United have been set a deadline to get their offer in.

Sportsmediaset report that the Red Devils have a deadline of August 15 to pay up:

"Unless there is an offer and clarity in one week, Vidal will no longer be on the market and will have to think back only to Juventus.

"This is because Juve wants time to figure out if they can come to terms for entry into the market with money from the sale of the Chilean."

It's a fair ultimatum, because Juventus cannot allow this to drag on until deadline day, and leave themselves little time to attempt to pull off deals of their own, which may be equally as complex.

August 15 is one day before the Premier League season starts, and for United to secure an agreement for Vidal, would give everybody at the club a major lift in time for kick-off.

He is presently in Australia with Juventus on tour, and is otherwise scheduled to play on August 16 in Singapore.

This could turn into a farewell match, if permitted to play, but if United fans have it their way, Vidal may land up leaving the tour early.
