Valon Behrami was widely linked with Tottenham and Inter, but he has decided to join German side Hamburg.
Behrami, who wore a West Ham United shirt between 2008 and 2011, had become a peripheral figure in Rafa Benitez's Napoli squad despite his unquestioned abilities.
In an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss, the wide man, who can play in defence or midfield, discussed his relationship with former Liverpool boss Benitez, who replaced Walter Mazzarri on the Stadio San Paolo bench last summer.
"Benitez is a very good coach without any doubt at all, but he has his methods."
Behrami signed for Napoli in 2012 from Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee believed to be similar to the £3.5 million Hamburg paid for him.
"The experience of living in such an important city and to wear such a great team's shirt really gives you goose bumps.
"The first Champions League game for Napoli was the best experience."
Behrami also commented on recent reports suggesting that Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini is on his way to Napoli.
"He's a player with great physicality whose talents are clear, even if I'm not sure he's the right man for the midfield pairing."
