VIDEO: Milan get back on track with Chivas win

AC Milan boss Pippo Inzaghi ended a tough start to life at the Rossoneri with a 3-0 win over Chivas Guadalajara on a terrible pitch.

AC Milan went some way towards erasing memories of their dismal Guinness International Champions Cup campaign with a comfortable victory over Chivas Guadalajara.

The San Siro side were beaten 5-1 by Manchester City, 3-0 by Olympiacos and 2-0 by Liverpool in the International Champions Cup and Inzaghi, who only replaced Clarence Seedorf at the end of last season was already feeling the pressure.

So a 3-0 victory over their Mexican opponents at NRG Stadium will have boosted the stuttering Milan side.

However, there were severe question marks over the playing surface and a crowd of just under 15,000 was below expectations.

"Neither team wanted to play on that pitch, but the referee decided it was playable," Inzaghi told reporters after the game.

"Both teams were professional and wanted to act professionally. If the referee said we could play, then we play."

The goals came courtesy of Mbaye Niang, Giampaolo Pazzini and a long-range free-kick from Mario Balotelli.
