Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has assembled a squad, which is more than capable of competing on all fronts this season.

The Blues are one of the favourites to win the Premier League, they’re expected to be competitive in Europe and they have the squad depth to compete for both domestic cup competitions.

Mourinho could further improve his squad and we’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with Chelsea moves this past week.

Edinson Cavani (PSG)

The Express claims that Paris Saint-Germain are looking to offload the Uruguayan striker with Chelsea and Manchester United the reportedly interested parties. Cavani has been linked with Chelsea in the past but it’s debatable whether the club will make a move considering the signing of Diego Costa.

Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

Chelsea are one of the sides who have been tipped to rival Arsenal for Sami Khedira throughout the summer. The reports haven’t stopped with the Mirror among those to have linked the Blues with a move for the German holding midfielder over the past seven days.

Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

Ever since Mourinho described Varane as the best young defender in the world, he’s been linked with a move to sign him from the Spanish giants. Varane would be a top quality addition to the Chelsea back four but it’s doubtful whether they’ll move with the likes of Tomas Kalas and Kurt Zouma waiting for a first team chance.

Mehdi Benatia (AS Roma)

Benatia has reportedly been undermined at Roma with the Serie A side linked with a replacement and that’s sparked mass speculation of a Premier League move. Chelsea are one of the sides reportedly interested in making a move along with the likes of both Manchester clubs.

Florian Thauvin (Marseille)

Tottenham’s reported interest in Marseille youngster Florian Thauvin could prompt Chelsea to make a bid if previous reports of their interest have been accurate. Mourinho has made a habit in recent times of snapping up the most talented youngsters in European football.
