Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has already made some very sensible signings in the transfer market this summer.
Spurs have a good pool of resources and continue to be linked with several players who could make the move to White Hart Lane before or just after the start of the Premier League season.
We’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with Spurs this past week.
Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)
The Saints have been perfectly clear that the French holding midfielder is not going anywhere before the start of the new campaign. However, that hasn’t stopped several reports continuing the speculation, linking Schneiderlin with a move to White Hart Lane.
Jay Rodriguez (Southampton)
England striker Rodriguez is the other Saints star to have been constantly linked with a move to Spurs. Saints chairman Ralph Krueger puts him in the same bracket as Schneiderlin, having made it clear that he’s not for sale, but again, several reports still convey Tottenham’s interest.
Memphis Depay (PSV)
The Dutch club have reportedly already done a deal with Tottenham, which could see Nacer Chadli going the other way. That’s despite Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal apparently having told the player he’d be better off at PSV for at least another season.
Mateo Musacchio (Villarreal)
The £17 million Tottenham will reportedly have to pay to sign Musacchio may seem like a huge amount of money, but he’s a very solid all round defender who could form the spine of the Tottenham defence for several seasons. A deal seems to depend on a space being freed up with Younes Kaboul tipped to leave.
DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle)
A right-back may not be the priority in the minds of many Tottenham fans but reports suggest Pochettino is keen on American DeAndre Yedlin. He’s been playing well in the MLS with the Seattle Sounders but Spurs face competition with AS Roma also thought to be interested.
