Arsenal forward and resident social media expert has uploaded photographs of him with The Expendables stars Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham.
Arsenal and Germany striker Lukas Podolski is a known admirer of the 'Sweet Science'.
Previously, he has used social media to wish his friend Felix Sturm good luck whenever the veteran boxer has a fight scheduled.
The German pugilist of Bosnian descent is an accomplished fighter having been a three-time middleweight world champion, with one reign lasting five years. He has also had memorable fights with legendary multi-weight champ Oscar de la Hoya and cultured Irishman Matthew Macklin.
Now, Podolski - who is not due back at Arsenal first-team training until Monday - has taken a 'selfie' with a true boxing legend; Sylvester Stallone, a man inducted to the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2011 thanks to his iconic Rocky film series (above) which helped inspire generations of would-be fighters.
From the Rocky franchise to Rambo and now The Expendables, Stallone, 68, is currently promoting the third installment of his new production which, again, features British actor Jason Statham (below, with Podolski).
A known sports fan, Stallone may have shared a story with the Arsenal striker about how Brazilian great Pele once broke his finger when he tried to save a penalty kick during the filming of Escape to Victory.
Podolski is not the only Gunner taking pictures with celebrities during their last week of extended vacation following Germany's World Cup win, as Mesut Ozil was seen partying with a Las Vegas DJ.
