Liverpool have already been busy this summer, as manager Brendan Rodgers looks to bring in attacking players to replace star striker Luis Suarez, who left Anfield for Barcelona in a £75m deal. So far, Rodgers has secured deals for attacking players such as Benfica winger Lazar Markovic and Southampton duo Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert, whilst also strengthening other areas of his team with midfielder Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid right back Javi Manquillo and centre back Dejan Lovren from Southampton.
It seems that one more attacking player could be signed though, with a host of wingers and centre forwards linked with the Reds so far. Another name to throw into the hat is Marseille's Andre Ayew, who impressed for Ghana at this summer's World Cup in Brazil with goals against USA and Germany.
The 24-year-old has been prolific in recent years, scoring 49 goals in four seasons to become one of the most dangerous players in Ligue 1. Now though, Ayew is angling for a move to England - and reports today suggest that he's desperate for a move to Liverpool.
L'Equipe speculate that Ayew wants to leave France for the Premier League, but his £60,000 wages have reportedly put a number of teams off making a move - which could leave him to sign for Newcastle, despite turning the Magpies down earlier this summer.
St. James' Park has become the meeting ground for a number of Ligue 1 stars in recent years, so at least there would be some familiar faces up in the North East for Ayew should a move materialise.
As for Liverpool, the Reds should be looking to snap up a centre forward rather than another winger, and whilst Ayew may be passionate about playing for the club, he just doesn't fit what the club need anymore after the signings of Markovic and Lallana.
