Arsenal take on Manchester City this Sunday in the Community Shield and with that in mind Arsene Wenger has held his press conference ahead of the game this afternoon.
The Arsenal gaffer has been speaking about many aspects of the club - of course confirming bids have been made for Thomas Vermaelen and that the Belgian is likely to leave the club.
Manchester United have been confirmed as making a bid with Barcelona suspected to be part of the bidding party.
But that is talk about a player soon to be part of Arsenal's past, what about their future and present.
There are three Arsenal players who won the World Cup this summer with Germany. Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker all part of the successful World Cup winning German side.
Wenger confirmed that the trio had been given an extended break after their Brazilian heroics.
But now he has confirmed an exact date for their return today:
Arsenal FC (@Arsenal) August 7, 2014
That means all three will be back in training on the 11th. It is likely they will not be fit in time for Crystal Palace five days later - but Everton on the 23rd seems a likely return date.
But it wasn't just the World Cup trio whose return he confirmed today, he also had a date for one of their crocked stars:
Walcott has been out injured since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against North Londin rivals Spurs in January. He has been working hard all summer to work on his fitness and he is now ready to join in the full squad at the end of the month.
Walcott will still need some time to work on his fitness before featuring for Arsenal again. But with three to four weeks of training under his belt Arsenal might just get him back in time for massive London derbies against Spurs and Chelsea on the 27th September and 5th October respectively
