A blood-encrusted snowflake stirs up some mystery ahead of Sony’s Gamescom conference.
A brief 10 second teaser has been released by Sony ahead of their appearance at this year’s Gamescom. You can see the video below which shows a snowflake in close up getting sprayed with blood. The trailer also connects with Sony’s Gamescom outing with the inclusion of the hashtag ”#PlayStationGC”.
Just what the mysterious video is hinting at is unclear at present. A strong contender as suggested by fans is that the tease refers to Supermassive Games’ PlayStation Move horror title Until Dawn, originally announced in 2012. A look at box art for the game also carries the blood and snow motif.
Other possibilities that have been floated include Resident Evil 7 and, perhaps most unlikely of all, The Last Guardian.
Gamescom itself kicks off in Cologne in Germany on 13th August with Sony set to give their press conference on 12th August at 6pm UK time.
Beyond the pretty safe predictions that we’ll be seeing more of Sony’s exclusive AAAs, the likes of DriveClub, The Order 1886 and Bloodborne, we're also hopeful that Sony will be showing more of their VR headset Project Morpheus, something which received a surprisingly small amount of coverage at E3.
If a recent leak on the German playstation site is anything to go by, then we can also expect swathes of indies to be shown at the event (Until Dawn is also on this list), including a possible PS4 port of ThatGameCompany’s PS3 hit, Journey - we remain hopeful.
