Harry Redknapp has missed out on defensive target Jamaal Lascelles.
Upon signing for the Rs, Mutch said: “I don’t see a better place for me than QPR at the moment. The club is heading in the right direction and I’m really excited about the season ahead."
But Lascelles, who Redknapp has had a bid rejected for this summer, has joined Newcastle United and will spend the current season back on loan at previous club Nottingham Forest.
On the 20-year-old, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew explained: “Every time we sign a player, we think it’s good business. We think it’s part of what we do."
“It’s our judgement. They are two great young players and great assets for Newcastle United heading forward.”
Costa Rica defender Giancarlo Gonzales is reportedly on Fulham's radar.
Gonzalez played every minute of Costa Rica's memorable World Cup campaign in Brazil and would be Fulham's 10th signing of the summer.
Elsewhere, Tim Hoogland, who moved to Craven Cottage from Bundesliga side Schalke this pre-season, has been speaking about Magath's managerial style.
"I think we have done well in pre-season and we are ready for the games - 46 games is a lot," he told BBC London.
"Magath likes discipline and wants you to give everything in every training session."
"You have to follow his way. If you do this you will be a better player."
Should QPR sign Fer and is Gonzalez good enough for Fulham?
