Arsenal's most expensive signing ever and a recent World Cup winner with Germany is still on leave… in Las Vegas.
During Mesut Ozil's extended leave from Arsenal duty the World Cup winner has been photographed living it up in Las Vegas with world renowned electro-house DJ Steve Aoki, who is famous for throwing cake at fans, spraying champagne and crowd surfing.
The pair were seen together at Wet Republic at the MGM Grand which, according to their Instragram account, is an "adults-only playground" and "a magnet for partygoers, glitterati and celebrities from around the world."
The last time Ozil kicked a ball in competitive sport was during the World Cup final on July 13, last month, when Germany edged ahead of Argentina by virtue of an extra time Mario Gotze goal via Andre Schurrle.
However, since then, many of Ozil's international team-mates such as Schurrle at Chelsea and Sami Khedira and Toni Kroos at Real Madrid, have returned to club-level football.
FA Cup winners Arsenal contest the Community Shield on Sunday at Wembley Stadium against Premier League champions Manchester City, but with Ozil not due to return to North London until August 11, that is another game and another week of training the trequartista misses out on.
With the domestic campaign set to begin next week and an Arsenal fixture versus Crystal Palace on Saturday, August 16 looming on the horizon, it is unlikely the 25-year-old will be match-fit… so when will he be ready?
