Nottingham Forest have clinched the signing of Sheffield Wednesday winger Michail Antonio, and he is looking forward to getting started.
The 24-year-old winger sent a message out to supporters of his new club via Twitter, to let them know he is keen to get down to action straight away.
Antonio signed for a fee estimated to be around £1.3 million, as part of a double signing for Forest, who spent £5 million on Peterborough striker Britt Assombalonga.
After negative headlines garnered earlier in the month via the sales of Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow to Newcastle, the immediate reinvestment is a positive sign for supporters.
Antonio has 12 goals and 18 assists to his name in the Championship, and hopes to get going straight away against Blackpool when the season kicks off this weekend.
He told Forest's official website: "'d love to be involved on Saturday. I've heard the game is almost sold out so hopefully, if the manager picks me, I can play a part and we can start the season off in the best way."
