Manchester United transfer news: Hope over Cuadrado, Barca pulling ahead for Vermaelen

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Manchester United.

Manchester United have been offered hope of doing a deal for Fiorentina wide man Juan Cuadrado as he's set to snub a new deal at the Serie A side.

United have been linked with the £50 million rated Colombian throughout the summer but are yet to make an official move.

Reports suggest that the contract snub is a tactic from the player to try and force a move away from the club.

Barcelona are reportedly nudging ahead in the race to sign Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal.

The Belgian has been linked with Manchester United, with the Old Trafford side having already seen a £10 million turned down.

United could still trump Barca with a higher offer but it’s unclear whether Louis van Gaal will want to overpay for an older player.

Manchester United have completed their third signing of the summer in the form of 17-year-old goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic.

United agreed a deal with FK Vojvodina for the player last May, which has now gone through.

He’s already playing for the Serbian under-19 side and stands at a staggering height of six feet and seven inches tall.
