New Liverpool signing Javier Manquillo has said that fellow Spaniard Suso could be one of the men to help him settle in at the club.
Manquillo has joined Liverpool on loan from Atletico Madrid with the option for the Reds to make the move permanent at the end of the loan spell.
Upon his arrival, the Reds' latest recruit told the official Liverpool website: "It's better to have him on your side than against you, because we all know he has great quality and is a very good player. I get on very well with him and he's a great teammate to have.
"I haven't really spoken to him much yet but when we see each other he'll be able to give me lots of advice and I guess it will be him who helps me to get settled in here."
Clearly, Manquillo is a fan of his fellow Spaniard. After a loan spell at Almeria last season, there has been a lot of talk about Suso's future. There is plenty of competition for places in his area of the field, and the signings of Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic have intensified that competition further going into the new season.
Suso is evidently a talented player, and it has been mooted he will be given a new contract, whilst his performances during pre-season games have done his chances of making an impact on the first team no harm.
There is also the question of integration. With Liverpool signing so many players this summer, integration was likely to be an issue, though a lot of the contingent that arrived from Southampton may have found it easier than normal, especially with two of signings being England internationals.
But when it comes to integrating new players into the club, other players have a part to play. Suso seemingly knows Manquillo well and could help him settle into the club. Given the player is regarded as one of the hottest talents in Spanish football - who even caught the attentions of Arsenal - it's important he settles into the club quickly so Liverpool can develop him as best as they can, and reap the rewards.
In addition, with Alberto Moreno also said to be on his way to Anfield, Suso - along with fellow Spaniard Jose Enrique - could play a massive part in integrating two potentially key players into the squad smoothly.
Without the fact he could help a new signing to settle in, Suso has a pretty compelling case to put to Brendan Rodgers for him to stay at the club this season because of his footballing ability - but his role here could add to his cause.
