£8m former Chelsea striker calls on fans to help Champions League push

Demba Ba has taken to Twitter to get fans fired up for Besiktas v Feyenoord this evening.

This summer Chelsea have embarked on something of a restructuring of their striking resources under Jose Mourinho. The Blues have brought Didier Drogba back to the club and also splashed out on the signature of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid.

To offset those deals they have allowed both Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba tranfers out the Chelsea revolving door - joining Everton and Besiktas respectively.

Ba was obviously happy to make his move to Turkey. The former Newcastle man has frequently been linked with a move to the country in the past and he will likely be looking forward to regular first-team football next season.

But he would also like to be playing in the Champions League, which means a big performance is needed from him and his team-mates this evening.

Ba, who left Chelsea for £8 million, made his debut in the recent Champions League third qualifying round tie against Feyenoord - a game that his team won 2-1 in Rotterdam.

But that does not mean he is resting easy. He wants his side and the clubs fans to raise the roof at the Ataturk this evening - as they attempt to reach the play-off stage of qualifying, leaving Ba one step closer to a potential grudge match with Chelsea.
