The sequel to the Vita-defining shooter Velocity Ultra will also be a cross buy
Velocity 2X devs, Futurlab have provided a release date for the sequel to Velocity Ultra on PS4 and Vita. The game will be available to download from the PlayStation Network on 2nd September in North America and 3rd September in Europe.
The game will support both cross-buy and cross-save functionality, so purchasing once will unlock the game on both the PS4 and Vita, with gamers able to save their progress across both platforms.
The new Velocity game mixes vertical shoot-em-up action with some running-and-gunning platforming while retaining the fast paced blasting and teleporting from the previous game. Playing as Lt. Kai Tana you’ll get to infiltrate boss ships in order to take them down from the inside.
Velocity 2X will also feature a soundtrack from Joris de Man, who has previously penned music for the Killzone series.
In time honoured tradition, a new trailer is also out with the announcement which we have below for you.
If you played Velocity Ultra on the VIta or PS3 how did you rate it? Are you inspired to go and get Velocity 2X when it lands in September?
