Arsenal continue to be linked with a possible move for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, and it is one former footballer turned journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft believes would be ideal for the Gunners.
Fjortoft now specialises in German football, and writing on his official Twitter account he said, "IF! If Arsenal are going for Khedira, I think it's a wise move. Can give their midfield better balance."
The if was a big one because the simple fact is, despite the rumours doing the rounds there is no certainty Arsene Wenger will even make a bid for the German international.
Indeed the Frenchman admitted there had been no offer in an interview conducted after the Gunners' 5-1 victory over Benfica on Saturday. Although he was a little less open when asked if he had enquired about the the Real star.
"What is 'enquire' for you?" Wenger asked.
But whatever the current situation, Fjortoft clearly believes it would be a great move if it happened.
Balance in a team is vital, and for all Arsenal's impressive summer signings they need an experienced defensive-minded midfielder to ensure they do not fall short again this season.
Khedira would be perfect; but for that very reason, it will not be easy for Arsenal to get him.
