Manchester United players were photographed at Manchester airport following their successful pre-season tour of USA, including International Champions Cup.

Various members of Manchester United's pre-season tour were snapped on their way back into the United Kingdom as the club recently concluded their USA trip with a 3-1 victory over regional rivals Liverpool to claim the International Champions Cup - a friendly tournament that also featured AS Roma, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

Under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal, who has been experimenting with a 3-5-2 formation that utilises attacking full-backs, United are unbeaten.

Steven Gerrard converted a spot kick in Miami late last night, but United rallied inside the Sun Life Stadium and found goals via Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.

Rooney responded well to the captaincy as the man with the armband not only scored, but generally inspired the comeback with another highlight reel performance that demonstrated he was deserving of the player of the tournament award.

Other players who will have impressed manager Louis van Gaal include Ashley Young, Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw (both seen above at the airport).

United now have one final preparatory fixture to contest - an August 12 match-up against Valencia - before the season proper begins.

Now United's commercial ventures and pre-season tour of USA have been concluded and they are back in Manchester, van Gaal may feel he has more time to dedicate to the transfer market.

The Dutchman expressed concern that too much time was dedicated to marketing the club a few weeks ago and recently suggested that the club do intend to spend in the current window, but will not alert the press as to whom they are targeting as that only increases the price-tag of the player in question.

United have been heavily linked to Arturo Vidal, whose market valuation has risen sharply to around £50 million after a successful World Cup and the Old Trafford outfit's perpetual interest.
