Manchester United defender could not believe his luck when he gave away another penalty against Liverpool.
Liverpool's last match against Liverpool is not an event any Manchester United player will recall fondly, least of all Phil Jones.
The England international gave away an early second half penalty in the match at Old Trafford, when he fouled Joe Allen inside his own box.
So when history repeated itself in the International Champions Cup Final in Miami, his reaction was priceless.
He conceded a penalty after fouling Raheem Sterling in the 14th minute of the contest, which once again, Steven Gerrard stepped up to convert.
Fortunately for Jones this time, his United teammates were able to turn the game around and win 3-1, with goals from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard in the second half.
It was the third penalty United have conceded on their pre-season tour, a sign perhaps of their defenders' adjustment to Louis van Gaal's new system. Phil Jones will be one of the defenders hoping the club are getting their bad fortune out of the way now before the season begins.
