Sagna was taking part in his first training session with new club Manchester City on Tuesday.
New Manchester City signing Bacaray Sagna has been introduced to his new manager Manuel Pellegrini by countryman Samir Nasri on Tuesday.
Sagna joins the Champions on a free from Arsenal after his contract at the Emirates expired last month.
Frenchman Nasri introduced Sagna to members of the City squad before he met the most important person of them all, Pellegrini.
Sagna will be hoping to impress his new boss quickly as he bids to secure the right-back spot currently held by Pablo Zabaleta. The 31-year-old will add valuable experience and depth to City’s defence, as they continue to seek improvement in the Champions League.
Manchester City could now be the only place that Sagna plays alongside Samir Nasri, after reports on Monday suggested he could formally quit international football. Nasri was left out of France coach Didier Deschamps’s World Cup squad in Brazil this summer, and continues to be overlooked for selection.
Nasri’s international retirement would only aid City’s cause, as one of their best players from last season would remain fresh and well rested during Euro 2016 qualifying breaks.
City will contest the Community Shield at Wembley this weekend having won last year’s Premier League title, going up against Sagna’s former side Arsenal in their first opportunity for silverware this season.
