Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has been strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer, with a return to the Premier League reported to be on the cards.
On more than one occasion, the club’s officials have hinted during press conferences that they are open to offers for the former Arsenal star.
The Cameroon international further fuelled speculation on his future when he was spotted at the airport this week. Posting the following image on his official Instagram page, the 26-year-old wrote: ‘All good now thanks god what does not kill you makes you stronger’.
Many interpreted that photo and message as a sign that Song was ready to leave Barcelona after just two years since joining the Blaugrana from Arsenal.
However, the former Bastia midfielder has now cleared up the confusion, explaining that he was absent from Barcelona training because he had to attend to his ill son, who is now in better health.
Song has now returned to Barcelona training and seemed to be enjoying himself, despite uncertainties over his future.
The defensive midfielder posted the following picture on his Instagram page with the message: ‘The winning team today’.
