A selection of the latest transfer stories and more involving Liverpool Football Club this Tuesday morning.

Philippe Coutinho is amongst five Liverpool players who is set to be given a new contract at the club according to the Liverpool Echo, with manager Brendan Rodgers saying the club will look to award the Brazilian a new deal.

Jon Flanagan, Steven Gerrard, Suso and Jordan Henderson are also expected to extend their contracts at Anfield in the coming weeks.

Rodgers is quoted, saying: “A new contract for Philippe is something we will look to do over the summer.

“He's certainly on that list. It's all in hand.

“He's certainly a valuable player and a great asset to the club."

Liverpool could firm up their interest in Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony as the Swans are prepared to ditch his £19 million release clause according to the Daily Mirror.

The Reds are in the market for another striker, with the Mirror reporting the Ivory Coast international is unsettled, and has made it clear he wants a move away from the club.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has previously hinted that Bony could go to a club in the Champions League for the right offer.

Alberto Moreno is close to securing a move to Anfield from Sevilla according to the Daily Mail, with Liverpool set to pay £16 million for the 22-year-old left-back according to the report, and talks should be concluded soon.

Finally, defender Sebastian Coates has said he would like to stay at Liverpool after an impressive pre-season, but tells the Liverpool Echo he needs to play football.

He said: “I would like to stay at Liverpool and play but that's not just down to me. It depends on the manager and the club. They will decide what happens.

“After being out for so long, I need to play. If I do stay I want to play more than I did in the other years.”
