Just two weeks ago, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal bemoaned the 'unbalanced' nature of the Old Trafford roster - an allegation heightened by the presence of four number 10's in the squad.
One of those, Shinji Kagawa, has long been deemed surplus to requirements, particularly by the previous United management as David Moyes seldom used the creative midfielder.
Overnight, however, reports of further outside interest in the Japan international has been noted by Bild as Wolfsburg will enter the summer transfer market in order to find cover for Ivan Perisic who recently suffered a "severe shoulder injury".
"The United midfielder is the list at Wolfsburg," said a report in German media.
"Following a severe shoulder injury from Ivan Perisic, Wolfsburg are on the transfer offensive [and] Kagawa [is seen as obtainable as he] did not make the breakthrough at Manchester and gets little game time."
The 25-year-old has a market valuation of £15 million and, should van Gaal receive an offer anywhere near that amount, the Dutchman must surely be tempted to cash in, in order to move from an unbalanced squad, to one that is balanced.
