This week’s new Xbox games probably won’t wow you

Sacred 3 Screen1

Microsoft's Xbox 360 gets one title released, Sacred 3, with a couple of Xbox One titles yet to receive scheduled release dates.

Not much going on this week, but did you expect anything different? With summer in full swing and all the big name games due to be released from September onwards, August isn’t going to be packed with loads of games. That being said, there are at least two decent Xbox One titles that are due to be seeing a release this month, so we’ll keep those in here and update with dates when announced.

The only title officially due this week is Sacred 3, which saw its UK release on Friday. So, in the interest of giving this article more characters than a tweet, let’s talk about Sacred 3 a bit.

Sacred 3 is a co-op hack and slash game, and the third full title in the series, which takes a different direction to its open-world predecessors. The first two games were developed by Ascaron, with Deep Silver picking up the license for Sacred when the studio dissolved back in 2009. I note the fact the latest addition has different developers because it appears the game’s reception hasn’t been great, since its UK release. So, you’ll probably want to check out some reviews before you spend any cash.

This week’s Xbox releases are as follows:

Xbox One

Minecraft – August 2014

Pinball FX2 – August 2014

Xbox 360

Sacred 3 – 5th August US
