Arsenal's Welsh midfield maestro says that he is looking forward to taking on Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday.
Aaron Ramsey has taken a selfie of himself inside Wembley stadium today and says that he is looking forward to returning to the national stadium again next week.
"Great morning at Wembley supporting Grassroots Football. Looking forward to coming back here at the weekend."
Arsenal take on Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday in the Community Shield and Ramsey will likely play a starring role in the match.
The Gunners qualified for the chance to play in the most prestigious match before the competitive season starts by winning the FA Cup and, in the process, ending their nine year wait for a trophy.
In the final it was Ramsey who scored the winner, too, as his extra-time strike completed a remarkable comeback against Hull City – who had gone 2-0 up in the opening stages.
It was a goal that capped off a sensational season for Ramsey. The Welshman has always been considered a player with a lot of potential, but he had struggled to make an impact in the Arsenal career up until last campaign.
However, he was a leading light for the Gunners during the 2013/14 season, with his performances in central midfield catching the eye and seeing him be voted as the club’s player of the season.
Arsenal now head into this year with renewed vigour. Not only have they ended the pressure on them to win some silverware, they have also had a very productive transfer window and look to have one of the strongest squads at their disposal in the Premier League.
With Alexis Sanchez joining Arsene Wenger’s men the thoughts are that they could mount a real title challenge and pose a threat to the likes of Chelsea, City and Liverpool who they finished behind last season.
The first test for them will be on Sunday, as they take on Manuel Pellegrini’s side, and Wenger will be looking to get off to a successful start to the campaign to ensure the buzz around the Emirates Stadium remains.
