Alexis Sanchez made his first start for his new club Arsenal on Sunday and gave an impressive performance.
The Chile international started the Gunners’ Emirates Cup clash against AS Monaco and was on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium until the 73rd minute.
The 25-year-old forward was a constant threat to the Ligue 1 club and showed on many occasions what he is capable of, but failed to prevent the North London outfit from suffering a 1-0 defeat.
Sanchez is yet to recover full fitness but he is determined to do so as quickly as possible, stating that his immediate priority is be 100% fit and get ready for the start of the new Premier League season.
‘What it is important for me now is to try to play games, to score as many goals as possible and to win titles’, Arsenal’s official website quotes him as saying. ‘What it is important now is to play and get fit. I need to get 100%’.
Sanchez, who actually played better in the second half than in the first against Monaco, only recently started pre-season training following a good 2014 World Cup campaign with Chile.
