Alexis Sanchez believes Arsenal's style is perfect for him, and credits Arsene Wenger for that.
The attacker was quizzed in the club's Emirates Cup programme at about how influential the Frenchman was in joining the club, and he was very complimentary about his new boss.
Sanchez even elaborated to explain that the style of football at the club can be compared to his own national team, which will help his transition.
He said: "I was told that he is a manager you can learn a lot with. He wants to achieve great things in football and that helped me make the decision to sign for Arsenal.
"Arsene Wenger's style of play is a little bit like that of the Chilean national team. Therefore I am used to it.
"Arsenal plays very well, they play good football and that fits with my style. That's why I came here."
Sanchez had been linked with signing for Liverpool previously, whose playing style had also been praised under Brendan Rodgers.
Yet Wenger's longevity, contrasted with the two years Rodgers has had in charge an Anfield, clearly won the battle in Arsenal's favour.
The most exciting part of his comments is that Sanchez suggests Wenger can make him an even better player, and that is a thought for Gunners fans to savour heading into his debut season at the club.
